A 42-year-old Indian-origin man, Vikrant Thakur, has been charged with murder following the death of his wife, Supriya Thakur, at their residence in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community as details emerge regarding the tragic death of the 36-year-old mother and aspiring nurse.

Emergency services were summoned to a home on West Avenue in Northfield at approximately 8:30 PM on Sunday following reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, South Australia Police discovered Supriya Thakur unconscious and unresponsive.
Despite immediate resuscitation efforts by officers and paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Vikrant Thakur was arrested at the residence shortly after and subsequently charged with her murder.
