GUWAHATI – The Assam state administration is shifts into high gear as it prepares to host the swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected NDA government. On May 6, Chief Secretary Ravi Kota spearheaded a high-level review meeting to ensure the transition of power proceeds without a hitch.

The prestigious event is scheduled for May 12 at the Veterinary Field in Khanapara, Guwahati.

The ceremony is expected to be a massive affair, drawing some of the nation’s most prominent leaders. Expected attendees include:

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi
  • Several Union Ministers
  • Chief Ministers and Deputy CMs from BJP-governed states
  • Prominent leaders from various industrial sectors

Chief Secretary Kota, alongside the Director General of Police (DGP), scrutinized every facet of the upcoming event. The meeting focused on the intricate logistics required for the Prime Minister’s visit and the official oath-taking of the new Council of Ministers.

Key areas of focus included:

  • Security & Safety: Comprehensive deployment strategies to ensure a secure environment.
  • Logistics: Venue readiness at Khanapara and strict protocol management.
  • Public Order: Traffic regulation plans to minimize disruption in the city.
  • Coordination: Seamless communication between various government departments.

Following the meeting, Ravi Kota took to X (formerly Twitter) to emphasize the administration’s commitment to the event’s success. He noted that all departments have been directed to maintain the “highest level of preparedness.”

“All concerned departments have been instructed to maintain the highest level of preparedness to ensure the ceremony is conducted smoothly, securely and in a manner befitting the significance of the occasion,” Kota stated.

With the eyes of the country turning toward Guwahati this May 12, the Assam government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the ceremony is executed with both precision and the dignity the occasion demands.
