A chilling murder case has emerged from the Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh, echoing previous sensational crimes involving a blue drum. The body of a young woman, identified as 22-year-old Lakshita Chaudhary, was discovered inside a house in Vaishali Avenue Colony, allegedly drowned in a blue drum by a friend.
Lakshita had been missing for three days after leaving her home on Monday for college and never returning, prompting her family to file a missing person report.
The Discovery and Arrest
The tragic discovery was made after a foul smell began emanating from the accused’s house, causing panic in the neighborhood. When police arrived, they found Lakshita’s decomposed body, with her hands and legs tied and clothed in a Garba dress, near the blue drum and covered with a bedsheet.
The accused, 35-year-old Monu, alias Manoj Chauhan, is said to have surrendered to the police. He allegedly confessed to the crime, stating he had loved Lakshita and killed her in a fit of rage after learning she was in a relationship with another person.
Monu reportedly called Lakshita to his house, tied her, and drowned her in the water-filled drum before fleeing. Dewas Police have sent the victim’s body to Indore for a postmortem examination, and the accused is currently being interrogated.
