NEW DELHI – The national capital is reeling from a wave of violence involving young victims after two separate, gruesome incidents were reported on May 7. In North Delhi, an 18-year-old was brutally murdered in broad daylight, while in South Delhi, the body of a missing 13-year-old was recovered, leading to the apprehension of two minors.
A palpable sense of terror has gripped Shardanand Colony in the Bhalswa Dairy area after an 18-year-old man was stabbed to death. The scene of the crime was marked by chilling sights of blood splatters trailing down the street, leaving the local community in deep mourning and fear.
The Timeline of the Crime Police received a call from a local hospital where the victim, a resident of Jhuggi Kalandar Colony, was brought in dead by a friend. The Medical Legal Case (MLC) report cited a history of physical assault and suspected stab wounds sustained near “Tandoor Wali Gali” around 7:30 P.M.
Allegations of Negligence The victim’s family has leveled serious allegations against the local authorities. Relatives claim they had previously received death threats from the suspected killers and had lodged a formal complaint at the police station. Public Outcry and Protests The discovery sparked intense protests. Angry residents staged a road blockade near the Sanjay Colony police post on Wednesday, demanding swift justice for the young boy. While the case was initially registered as a kidnapping, the Delhi Police have now added murder charges to the investigation.
