New Delhi, September 24, 2025 — Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known by his civil name Parth Sarthy, is the manager of Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management (SRISIIM) in Delhi. Once associated with the highly respected Sri Sringeri Math, Saraswati has now come under intense scrutiny after being booked for the alleged molestation of over 30 female students at the institute. The accused is currently absconding and being pursued by Delhi Police.
The controversy erupted after a formal complaint was filed on August 4, 2025, by P.A. Murli, the administrator of Sri Sringeri Math & Its Properties, prompting Sri Sharada Peetham to officially sever all ties with Saraswati in the wake of the serious allegations.
Allegations of Sexual Harassment and Abuse
The Delhi Police has confirmed that a case under the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Vasant Kunj Police Station against Saraswati. According to authorities, 32 female students pursuing PGDM at SRISIIM have come forward with complaints. These students are largely from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) scholarship quota, raising grave concerns over exploitation of vulnerable groups within educational institutions.
Out of the 32 complainants, 17 have alleged instances of:
- Obscene and sexually explicit messages via WhatsApp/SMS
- Use of abusive and vulgar language
- Unwanted physical contact
The Delhi Police stated that “CCTV footage was analyzed and several raids were conducted at the place of the incident as well as at the addresses of the alleged person. NVRs and hard disks collected from SRISIIM Institute have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).”
Additionally, statements of 16 victims have been recorded under Section 183 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) at Patiala House Courts.
Fake UN Car Plate and Ongoing Investigation
Further deepening the seriousness of the case, Delhi Police have impounded a car belonging to the accused, which was found to have a fake United Nations (UN) registration plate, raising suspicions of identity misrepresentation and possible attempts to evade legal processes.
Authorities have launched a manhunt, confirming that Saraswati is on the run. Police teams have conducted multiple raids at both the institute and his residence but have yet to locate him.
Institutional Fallout
In a major development, Sri Sharada Peetham, a prominent spiritual institution, has publicly disassociated itself from Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati following the complaint lodged by its administrator. The move is seen as a decisive step to distance the Peetham from the unfolding scandal.
As the case unfolds, Delhi Police have urged other potential victims or individuals with credible information to come forward to assist the investigation. The story continues to spark debate on the misuse of power by spiritual figures and institutional leaders, especially within educational environments.
