Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a fresh warning that Russia is making military moves that suggest a new large-scale offensive is imminent. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian forces have been repositioning troops, increasing supply lines, and reinforcing positions along the front, particularly in the eastern Donbas region.

Speaking at a press briefing in Kyiv, Zelenskyy said Ukraine would never agree to cede the Donbas in exchange for a ceasefire, calling it a “trap” that would only allow Moscow to regroup and launch future attacks. “Any compromise on our territory would mean giving the aggressor a springboard for the next war,” he said.

The warning comes just days before a planned summit in Alaska between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, where the possibility of a peace deal may be discussed. Reports suggest that Moscow might push for territorial concessions in exchange for halting hostilities.

European Union leaders have largely supported Ukraine’s firm stance, but divisions remain. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán refused to sign a joint EU statement backing Kyiv, citing the need for “pragmatic dialogue” with Moscow—a position that has drawn sharp criticism from other EU members.
