A shocking incident of brutal violence has emerged from Kanpur, where a 22-year-old law student was savagely assaulted by a medical shop attendant and three accomplices following a minor argument over the price of medicine.
The victim, Abhijeet Singh Chandel, a first-year law student at Kanpur University, is currently hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining life-threatening injuries, including a severed stomach and chopped fingers.
Argument Escalates into Savage Assault
According to the police report and details from an NDTV source, the incident occurred when Chandel visited the medical shop to purchase medicine. An argument over the price quickly escalated into a violent confrontation involving the shop attendant, identified as Amar Singh, his brother Vijay Singh, and two others, Prince Raj Srivastava and Nikhil.
What began as a verbal disagreement turned into a brutal assault by the four individuals. Initially, the attackers hit Chandel on the head, causing him to fall to the ground, bleeding.
The assault then took a grisly turn. Officials stated the attackers struck the student’s stomach and used a sharp object to cut it open. As Chandel desperately attempted to flee the scene for help, the assailants caught him again and brutally chopped off two of his fingers.
Critical Injuries and Police Action
The commotion and Chandel’s screams for help alerted local residents, who rushed to the scene. Their intervention forced the four attackers to flee, likely saving the student’s life.
Abhijeet Singh Chandel was immediately rushed to the hospital. Officials confirmed he is in critical condition and has received 14 stitches to his head alone, along with the severe abdominal and hand injuries.
