Guwahati: In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the untimely demise of cultural icon Zubeen Garg, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has officially handed over the second post-mortem report to the late singer’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg.
The report, prepared by a medical team at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) following a second autopsy, was delivered to the family at their Kahilipara residence in Guwahati. This comes after Garima Saikia Garg had previously received the initial autopsy report from Singapore, where the tragic incident occurred.
The possession of both medical reports now puts the onus on the family to decide the next course of action. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has publicly stated that the decision to make the medical findings public rests entirely with Zubeen Garg’s family.
The death of the beloved singer in Singapore has sparked widespread public concern, with allegations of foul play leading to a full-scale probe by the Assam Police CID and the formation of a dedicated SIT. Investigators continue to minutely examine all circumstances surrounding the singer’s death, which has seen the arrest and interrogation of several key figures.
The people of Assam are currently in a state of high anticipation, eagerly awaiting any details from the GMCH report that could bring clarity and answers to the myriad of questions surrounding the incident.
The SIT has intensified its efforts, with continuous interrogations of all involved parties, and is determined to unearth the truth to deliver justice for the iconic artist and satisfy the collective demand of the public.
